With an aging population that is expected to triple by 2025, there will be many companies that attempt to service the home care industry.  Making the right choice for your family and loved one can overwhelming.  If you are looking for in-home care, we would like to share some distinct differences that make At Home Preferred unique:

1. We are not a franchise.

Franchises are often owned and operated by people who have very little, if any, health care or staffing experience. At Home Preferred is locally owned and managed by RN & Allied Specialties, a Joint Commission accredited healthcare staffing firm in Central Indiana that has served the hospital market since 1995. Clients benefit from working with a well-established company whose tenured staff and executive team have an understanding of healthcare staffing. We aren’t learning on the job; we already know it.

2. We screen our caregivers meticulously.

To reduce costs, many companies only require their caregivers to meet the minimum state screening requirements of a state criminal background check and a TB screen.  At Home Preferred implements caregiver hiring procedures that far exceed the standards of most other companies and what is required by the State of Indiana.

3. We provide dementia and Alzheimer’s care.

The need for dementia care is dramatically increasing. Part of our hiring process is to match client’s dementia with caregivers who have Alzheimer’s and dementia experience. In these instances, our caregivers are able to approach our clients in a way that lessens stress and confusion and improves trust and comfort for our clients and their families. 4. We employ our caregivers.

Some companies use independent contractors rather than incur the payroll tax liability of employees. At Home Preferred utilizes employees and takes full accountability for their work. By doing this, our clients are not exposed to liability risks such as payroll taxes, worker’s compensation, and unemployment compensation associated with the private engagement of caregivers.

5. We provide full insurance coverage for our employees and clients.

At Home Preferred is licensed, bonded and insured. We provide Worker’s Compensation and General Liability insurance for our clients and employees.

6. We are licensed by the State of Indiana and are a member of IAHHC.

We have met the licensing requirements by the State of Indiana to provide home care services. At Home Preferred is also a member of the Indiana Association of Home and Hospice, the preeminent organization in Central Indiana for providing educational content and information to companies that provide in-home care services.
