What It’s Like To Live With Alzheimer’s Dementia
This morning, I set out to write about the early warning signs and diagnoses of dementia and Alzheimer’s. While that topic is very important and relevant to families with loved ones in the early stages of the disease, I wanted to explore what it is like for someone actually living with dementia.
In doing my research on the Alzheimer’s Association website (which is a WONDERFUL resource for families), I found this video from ABC News in which Nightline’s Cynthia McFadden experienced first-hand what it was like to live with Alzheimer’s or dementia. The broadcast was so revealing that we urge our families to watch so that you can have a better insight as to what it is like for your loved one. If you are utilizing in-home care services, you may also want to share this video with your in-home caregiver(s).
