When we hire caregivers for the At Home Preferred team, which serves home care clients in central Indiana, we look for individuals who understand the difference between a job and a career. We look for individuals who don’t just want to go to work, they want to make a difference. Who want to apply their talents and caring to another person so that at the end of the day, they know the world is a better place.

Our in-home caregivers must be responsible people who enjoy working with people such as seniors and individuals needing non-medical help in their homes. This might include someone recovering from joint replacement surgery or an illness that keeps them from doing things like housekeeping, laundry and other daily tasks. Our clients are looking for assistance with meals and small chores, but they are also looking for companionship. So it helps to be outgoing!

Over the years, we have found many wonderful people to join our team. Some have been nursing students who want a flexible part-time or full-time job that also provides great experience for the future. Some have been stay-at-home moms who want to work part-time while their kids are in school. Others are older adults or retirees who want extra income and also like the idea of helping others. Experience in health care is a plus, but not required.
