Hiring Process

The hiring process can be an exciting time, but also a bit stressful. To make things easier for you, here is an overview of our hiring process.

Step 1: Apply Online

Step 2: Application Review

We will review your online application within 48-72 hours after receipt of your online application and an AHP representative will reach out to you to answer any questions you might have about our company. During this call, if you choose to continue to pursue employment with our company, we will continue with Step 3.

Step 3: Complete Personal Care Attendant Exam

As a prerequisite to our in-office interview, you will be emailed a link to our Personal Care Attendant Exam. The purpose of this exam is to determine if you possess the appropriate qualities and characteristics of a caregiver working for At Home Preferred.

Step 4: In-Office Interview

Once you have completed your online testing, we will contact you to set up an in-office interview. Below is a list of required documents to bring with you to your interview:

•  TB skin test and reading (current within one year)
If you do not possess one, this can be administered in our office.
•  CPR card (if you have one)
•  Professional resume (if not attached to your online application)
 Licensure if applicable (Ex: CNA)
•  Auto Insurance Declaration page (proof of insurance)
 Identification listed on page 9 of the I-9 Form (no photocopies)
•  For CNAs only: Health Statement signed by physician (current within oneyear)
 Voided check (for direct deposit)

Step 5: References and Background Screenings Checked

Our reputation begins and ends with the service of our in-home caregivers. We take extensive measures to ensure that our caregivers are thoroughly screened, well-qualified and well-trained as home care attendants. All of our in-home caregivers are subject to a comprehensive screening process that includes:

•   National, state and county criminal background check
•   National and state sex offender registries
•   Medicare/Medicaid fraud & abuse
•   10-panel drug screen
•   Complete work history verification
•   Professional references completed
